about

One thing I decided upon starting this project was that I wasn't going to waste anything - so if I come up with a little guitar figure or riff or chord progression I like, I make sure to record it for possible later use.

Of course, this means that I'm going to end up with A LOT of 1 minute guitar recordings that may or may not be any good. In this case, I was playing around, liked how it sounded, and wrote lyrics for it on the spot. The whole thing probably took 2 hours front to back - writing, practicing, recording.

Lyrically, I'm really proud of it. It's about brothers.

lyrics

When the lions show their teeth,
and open doorways like their jaws,
you aren't getting any farther than the corner where I left you.

And don't you know I told you?
I told you to be scared.

When you set off on your own,
you think you can move faster,
but that's why they're there, to remind you that I'm here.

And don't you know you need me?
To navigate this jungle.
To take you where it's quiet.
To where we've always been.

about

limesix Orlando

Limesix is a rock band, in the 90s tradition. They maybe sound a bit like Portastatic, Yo La Tengo, and Say Hi, hopefully with some sly nods to Prince.
